Draughtboard Alley: Photography Talk and Workshop

This is a lively and interactive workshop exploring migration and heritage; participants will gain an insight into the lives of a community of mixed-raced families who lived in Canning Town in the early 20th Century.

Through informal conversation, presentations and discussion, Trisha and Hajia will explore the challenges faced by this community through the lens of heritage, culture, and photography. Exploring the lives of community leaders, soldiers, sailors, their families who experienced racism and social unrest, but remained resilient, optimistic and built a strong community in Canning Town.
