Host the Royal Docks Conversation and help local people shape the area's future
The Royal Docks summer festival Join the Docks is about to launch with hundreds of events and activities planned, including live performances, music stages and art installations etc.
As part of the festival, the Royal Docks Team will be holding a series of pop-up consultation events across the area, talking to people in parks, public spaces, and wherever they are.
The team will be gathering local people’s views and ideas for the future of the Royal Docks to help inform several important plans that will guide the area’s redevelopment, including the Royal Docks and Beckton Opportunity Area Planning Framework.
To ensure we hear a good cross-section of local voices, particularly those who are seldom heard in consultation processes, small grants of up to £2000 are being offered to local grassroots organisations and individuals who have good reach into the community. Read more here.
Other funding streams
We will shortly be launching a number of funding streams to give local organisations and individuals the chance to play a key role in regenerating the Royal Docks.
The Royal Docks Good Growth Fund will fund major capital projects that support economic and community development. This includes creating workspaces, building skills, enhancing public spaces, and more.
Meanwhile, the Royal Docks Crowd Fund will back a range of smaller, locally-led campaigns and projects that help to grow local prosperity, empower the community, and make places better for everyone. For examples of the sorts of projects we will be considering, have a look at what has already been funded by the equivalent London-wide fund.
Both of these funding streams will be launched in 2019, so check this page again for further information.
