DSEI 2025: Information for local tenants & residents

Defence & Security Equipment International 2025 is taking place at Excel London between 9th-12th September. Here is information on how it will impact local public transport and access to the Excel site.

Event details

    • The build takes place between 29th August - 8th September.
    • The open period is 9th -12th September from 09:30 - 17:00 on 9th, 10th, 11th and 09:30-16:00 on 12th September.
    • Breakdown is from show close on the 12th until 15th September.
      From 6th – 15th September naval and research vessels will be alongside in Royal Victoria Dock.

    Pedestrian Footpath Closures

    Security & Access
    Considerable planning has taken place to maintain the safety of the general public, exhibitors and visitors to the event. Agencies involved in the planning include Metropolitan Police, Ministry of Defence Police, British Transport Police, the emergency services and private security companies. During the build and break periods, control of the site excluding DSEI areas, remains with Excel London.

    Access to the Excel London site
    The site barriers will be erected from 23rd August, but access to site will not be affected until Monday 1 Sept – 00:01hrs. From Mon 1st 00.01hrs – Sunday 14th September 23:59hrs the following restrictions will be in place:

    Vehicles:
    Excel London car park will be closed from 2nd to 13th September. Alternative arrangements have been made for those with resident car parking permits. If you have a car park permit but have not received any communication, please email info@excel.london

    Access to parking areas for the Aloft Hotel will be unaffected as a guest, but drivers will need to pass through the checkpoints at the east of the campus to gain entry with proof of their residence.

    Public Transport: Access to and from Custom House DLR and Elizabeth line stations from Western Gateway will be via a staircase to the right as you exit the station going towards Excel London. Please respect the walking route shown on the map. If you have access needs and are unable to use the staircase, please make yourself known to an Excel or G4S member of staff (if you are on the estate there will be someone by the post box by the taxi rank) or call 020 7069 4445 to arrange an escort for an accessible route. Please ensure you leave sufficient time for your journey as there may be a short delay.

    Aloft Hotel visitors and residents will be able to access the hotel from Prince Regent DLR station and the east site entrance points. There will be a security check and confirmation of residence will be required.

    The Excel London building
    Please be advised that there will be no access to the Excel London building, including the car park under the venue during this period.

    Demonstrations

    It is possible that there will be disruption due to spontaneous protests throughout the build and live period of the event. Please do remain vigilant and report anything suspicious to the Excel Security Control Room immediately on 020 7069 4445 or 4444.

    Eyes and Ears
    Please help the security effort by reporting anything out of the ordinary to the Excel Security Suite. Call 020 7069 4445 or 020 7069 4444 in an emergency.
