Royal Docks boosts commitment to climate action with renewed partnership agreement

The Royal Docks has strengthened its commitment to climate action with the launch of a renewed Climate Agreement at Tipping Point East in Silvertown; bringing together partners to accelerate progress towards net zero.

Launched during London Climate Action Week, the event highlighted the growing momentum of the Royal Docks Sustainability Network—uniting developers, businesses, public bodies and education institutions to drive collective climate action. The Deputy Mayor of London for Housing and Residential Development, Tom Copley, joined partners and stakeholders to mark the milestone.

Originally established in 2024, the updated agreement expands the partnership and sets a more ambitious, joined-up framework for delivering sustainable growth across the Royal Docks.

At its core is a strengthened focus on key priorities including the Blue Green Corridor, clean tech innovation, data sharing, and embedding circular economy principles across the built environment.

The launch took place at Tipping Point East in the Royal Docks, a pioneering hub for circular economy in the Royal Docks. Developed by the Mayor of London and the London Borough of Newham, the site is home to one of the UK’s first Circular Construction Hubs, helping to reduce waste, drive material reuse, build green skills, and position London as a global leader in low-carbon construction.

This work supports the delivery of thousands of new homes while cutting construction emissions, and plays a key role in Newham’s Just Transition Climate Action Plan—ensuring the shift to a greener economy creates real opportunities for local communities.

Guests toured the site, seeing first-hand how organisations including Yes Make, Material Cultures and Resolve Collective are rethinking how buildings are designed and delivered.
