Art in the Docks: Shoalmates Parade

Come and join us for our spring time parade around Royal Albert Wharf! With beautiful shoals of fish depicting cultural heritage, individuality and community, made by several hundred Newham residents. If you’d like to make a fish at home to bring along and join in the parade, here’s an easy ‘how to’ video.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ygr7sUDUp6A

The parade will follow a route around the dock and along the Thames, a spectacle that celebrates individuality at the same time as collective belonging.

Rokhsana Fiaz, Mayor of Newham, will be there to join in the fun too so please come along to Pump House Square from 1pm, the parade will begin promptly at 2pm.

Coinciding with Bow Arts Open Studios, it's guaranteed to be a fantastic afternoon for the whole family! The parade will finish around 3pm, after which we invite you to have an inspiring stroll around the artists studios.

With a big thanks to Winsor Primary School, Gallions Primary School and OASIS Schools, and Taru Arts Brazilian drummers and dancers, and Newham Dhol Academy.
