Millennium Mills - Feeding Edwardian London
If the history of the trade that helped feed London’s growing population of 7 million people by the year 1910 interests you, then this mixed-reality experience is for you.
Part of the 2023 Totally Thames Festival, Feeding Edwardian London will use mixed-reality (Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality) narrative-story-telling and data visualizations to allow the users to see the long-distance trade.
We will build a large-scale, visceral immersive digital experience that will show visitors how the Royal Docks was connected in a network of globalisation and colonialism, which provided the growing supply of wheat flour, cheese, edible oils and frozen foods to feed the people living in Greater London during the first decades of the 20th century.
Closest Station: Royal Victoria (DLR), Custom House (Elizabeth Line)
