Our Olympic Dream Lives On: Oral History Workshop
In 2008, Beijing hosted its first ever Olympic Games. This was followed by the 2012 Games held in London. The slogan for the Beijing Games was "One World, One Dream", whilst that for the London Games was "Inspire a Generation".
What, if any, did London 2012 achieve and what were the legacies left for London and in particular, Newham, in the eyes of the local people? If you're interested in finding out the answers for these questions, please join us at the two reminiscence workshops to be held in June as part of the Newham Heritage Month activities. Chinese, Vietnamese as well as English languages will be used for workshop discussions, where you will meet new friends and learn more about our multi-ethnic borough and its diverse cultures.
