Docks Open Art Commissions: Cargoes

A captivating, moving-image installation transforms the ground floor unit at Bow Arts into a living canvas of light and sound. Created in collaboration with local community groups from the West Silvertown Village Community Foundation, Cargoes blends archival imagery and 2D artworks through digital projections, inspired by transformation and reclamation.

Through a series of workshops, participants have created collages, drawings and sound recordings. These have been animated and layered with historic visuals to form a rich tapestry that reflects the many narratives of the Royal Docks.

The result is an atmospheric installation, part time capsule, part dreamscape, that presents a reflective portrait of place, history, and change.

Cargoes is part of the Royal Albert Wharf Creative Open Day.

Cargoes is a Docks Open Art Commission curated by Hive Curates.
