Compressor House Warming: Community Takeover
We're opening the doors of this historic building and kicking things off with a week of events led by locals:
- Become an Ambassador of Peace with Seek2Change (Tuesday 23 September)
- Hair 4 Newham: Fashion & Finance (Wednesday 24 September)
- Black Excellence on the Dock (Thursday 25 September)
- Institute of Imagination Schools Workshop (Thursday 25 September - closed to the public).
- Tech Tribe UK workshops for 16-18 year olds (Friday 26 September)
Take part in a wellness festival, peruse an indoor market or get skilled up with youth and children’s technology workshops, and that’s just for starters!
The Community Takeover was co-created as part of a community engagement session and call-out that took place in May 2025 which brought together local community organisations and residents.
It will be the first opportunity for communities to use the space since its recent renovation!
