This autumn, the Pump House becomes the beating heart of Royal Docks Originals 2025 with Pump House Pulse: three evenings of live music, featuring the best in Jazz and Blues. Led by the extraordinary bassist and bandleader Miles Danso, the Pump House Quartet will bring raw energy and soulful improvisation to the RDO festival hub.

About the artist
Miles Danso – bassist and bandleader
A compelling presence in the UK jazz scene, Miles Danso has worked alongside jazz legends including Pharoah Sanders, Courtney Pine, Soweto Kinch, Denys Baptiste, Cleveland Watkiss, and the celebrated Jazz Warriors. Beyond the stage, his compositions have featured across the media in film, TV, and advertising.

Presented by Certain Blacks, Pump House Pulse is part of Royal Docks Originals (15 Sept – 4 Oct 2025) – a spectacular free arts festival of over 50 events, celebrating transformation, creativity, and community with art, music, performance, and more.
This year’s RDO theme – Metamorphosis – couldn’t be more relevant for Certain Blacks. As an arts development organisation, Certain Blacks celebrates 10 years of championing the journey of artists from all dimensions of diversity. From its base in East London, Certain Blacks has become firmly embedded in the region’s cultural fabric.
