Join the Docks 2019

UPDATE 07/07/20: Join the Docks is returning for 2020. Building on last years’ event, we’re looking to collaborate with artists, organisations, and local collectives to create activities that explore the people, heritage, and places of the Royal Docks. However, this year’s edition of Join the Docks is going to be different as we negotiate the ‘new normal’ presented by COVID-19. You can apply via the Join the Docks application page.

Join the Docks is the Royal Docks’ summer festival. From July til September, everyone is invited to explore the area’s beautiful water, parks, outdoor spaces, and venues through three months of special events.

Highlights include:

Swimming, splashing and sand at Kids Summer Splash
Roller-blading dancers and world-famous musicians at the Certain Black Ensemble Festival
EFG London Jazz Festival's first-ever outdoor stage
Fireworks and floating swans at Wishful

Spanning 4km of London’s historic docklands, this curated cultural programme will nurture connections between neighbours, Londoners, and the communities that make up this part of Newham, East London. Join the Docks this summer, and discover somewhere different.
